Attempting to marry the old with the new has introduced some challenges, however, Parsons makes it work beautifully with found pieces, as shown here. The hundred-year-old piano was a gift to the household. Parsons created the pleated slipcover for her couch from a drop cloth, giving it a new, fresh appearance.

By blending in antique and current pieces, she’s managed to work together with the older style of the home. From the guest room she stenciled a boundary on an inexpensive jute rug. The dresser was transformed by her handiwork.
